Ride the Gorge is set to be a great all day Trail Ride fun day held on the Frew Farm in Southland.
The trail ride will be held covering the entirety of our Farm in the Otapiri Gorge near Winton. This area is fantastic for motocross trails as it is in a beautiful gorge with views right over Southland. Some great pre-existing trails and the ride will take in some new long trail loops marked out by guys who have ridden the area hundreds of times and know where the best riding is to be had.
‘Ride the Gorge’ is planned to be a Trail ride that’s a bit different to the rest, it takes in some incredible terrain and there is some difficult regions. Therefore it is to be noted that ‘Ride the Gorge’ is an intermediate - Advanced Trail ride, with the exception of the beginners Track, where kids can be left under supervision.
There will be several loops of varying length to take in separate styles of riding terrain and to maximize the time spent on the fun and challenging sections, Due to the restriction of numbers, there will be opportunities to repeat the loops each rider find best suits their style of riding.

· The ride will provide:
1. Learner and Beginner riding area: Supervised separate learner area suitable for mini-bike and beginner riders, children welcome.

2. Advanced Trail loops: For experienced Trail riders and very confident riders. (Not suitable for A.T.V riders). These areas will include the most difficult terrain on the day, including steep hill climbs, descents and some rough technical trails.

· Lunch time entertainment (weather permitting) will be a Freestyle moto x demonstration by some of Southlands best FMX riders and freestyle mountain bike riding on the jumps near the Lunch area.

· All riding areas will be clearly marked and marshaled, there will also be safety riders on course to ensure there are no delays in getting help to riders in trouble, out of their ability range or possibly injured.

· The ride will be limited numbers because of resource consent and catering estimates, this will be a great day riding with a fun friendly progressive atmosphere. Submit your entries early so that a place can be reserved for you and your family or friends.

· Lunch will be provided included in the Day ticket price, catered by professional Chefs; it will include some wild Venison from the BBQ, cold drinks, fruit, and good homemade baking to provide energy for the riders. Extra food will be available for purchase including drinks and chocolate bars.

· Minimum Safety Equipment requirement is a Helmet, Motocross Boots and Kneepads for ALL riders participating. Safety of the riders is a major priority for us.
